I heard on the news the other day that we are now 23 months into the COVID pandemic.  It’s been a long road for all of us, but hearing in those terms…23 months…is just crazy.  Not only have we been dealing with COVID itself, but the rippling effects across society and the economy make things harder.  Supplies are limited, sporadically for some of us, more often for others.  My local Giant is limiting chicken purchases to only 3 packages per transaction.  It’s nearly impossible to find wet cat food without visiting multiple stores, both brick & mortar and online.  A trip to fill your car with gas and groceries costs more than many of us can ever remember.  No matter what your finances look like, I think we are all feeling the impact.  While I don’t have all the solutions, I can offer at least 2 tips when it comes to shopping for meat:

Introducing… Chef Nate!

We went to our favorite restaurant down the street for my birthday and this kid ordered Octopus (which even I won’t eat). He does not mess around when it comes to food. And like me, he not only loves to eat, but he LOVES to cook. He will come into the kitchen and get to work any chance that he gets. For Easter, we got him a subscription to Raddish Kids. He was beyond excited to have his own apron and to get recipes every month that were written for kids.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Ya’ll! I hope that you had a wonderful, albeit different, holiday season. Like most of you, I missed out on some traditions and gatherings. I was not able to take my annual Christmas trip to North Carolina to see my sister and my Dad and to share in some amazing Southern cooking. Instead, I had a quiet Christmas and New Year at home with Matt and the boys, but it was still amazing. We watched all of our favorite holiday movies, cooked together, laughed together and just enjoyed our blessings. It was very peaceful and relaxed, and for that, I am thankful.
